HMI Element Actions

Actions enable a single Touch Element to trigger multiple events. Multiple bits can be linked to one element, triggering Load screen, set, reset, and toggle bits, and more.

The following elements do not have the Action Property:

  • Simple Elements such as line

  • Elements that enable data selection such as User Controls, Time and Date

  • Elements that open the virtual keyboard for data entry such as IP Edit Address

 

To create an action:

  1. Place an element on the screen

  2. Select Actions in the Properties Window.

  3. In Element Actions, click Add New Action.

  4. Select the Action, Operand or Screen, and the action Trigger.

Triggers differ depending on whether the project is based on a standard or multiitouch panel

 

Elements that offer actions also allow you  to show users a Message Box, a popup message that opens when the user touches the element.  

 

 

The message can ask the user a question, or give instructions and warnings.

You can select icons, include buttons in the Message Box and use the buttons to drive actions.
