Fixed Images

Use Fixed Image to display a non-variable Image on the HMI screen. A Fixed Image does not change according to run-time conditions.

You can supply the image directly, including it in the project, or you can supply it indirectly, via path to images that are hosted on the SD card or on a DOK (USB stick).

To show indirect images:

  1. Place a fixed image on the screen, and in Properties>Location, Select Indirect (External)

  2. Select the Drive Type. Note that the selection determines the root directory for the image path.

  3. Supply a tag for the path. You may supply the path in the Power-up field, or indirectly via the tag value.

  4. The path shown in the accompanying image, Looney/Bugs/Elmer.gif, shows the path format. The root of the path has been determined by the property Drive Type.

If you change indirect images of the same name at runtime, you must reload the screen to change the image (for example, using FTP File Receive bit to trigger the Load Screen action).

Note

  • Animated .gifs are not supported (only first frame will be shown).

  • The path name may not start with a colon or backslash, and may not contain backslashes.

  • Include the file extension, for example MyFile.png.

  • Names are case-sensitive.

Actions

Actions enable a single Touch Element to trigger multiple events. Multiple bits can be linked to one element, triggering Load screen, set, reset, and toggle bits, and more.

To create an action:

    1. Place an element on the screen

    2. Select Actions> Collections in the Properties Window.

    3. In Element Actions, click Add New Action.

    4. Select the Action, Operand or Screen, and the action Trigger.

Message Box

Elements that offer actions also allow you  to show users a Message Box, a popup message that opens when the user touches the element.

The message can ask the user a question, or give instructions and warnings.

You can select icons, include buttons in the Message Box and use the buttons to drive actions.
